Music Inspires Us All
I don't know about you but most of the time when I am working on a screenplay or a story I have a playlist to go along with it. Anyone else have a playlist of songs they write to? If so I want to know what kind of music inspires you to write.
Music & writing are my two favorite outlets in life. I have an individual playlist for each story I am working on. I think I spend more time finding the perfect music to write along to then I actually spend writing. Each song chosen inspires a certain scene or helps me get into the mood of writing a specific scene and sometimes it helps me get inside my character's head better.
Music has become a huge part of my writing process that I tend to really get lost in the music and before I know it I've written a feature length screenplay. That's what happened with my screenplay Forget-Me-Nots. I had this story inside me that was begging to come to life and I sat down for two weeks and wrote it. I was lost in the moment and it was the best experience to be able to sit down and actually write. I didn't get tripped up or have writer's block for this story.
Typically, I write dark drama's or psychological thrillers. When my fiancé Matthew read bits and pieces of it, he said that this was the most authentic thing I have ever written. He didn't mean it as an insult to my other stories/ screenplays but he was right. This story actually is heartfelt. I'm hoping when you guys get the chance to read it that you can feel the true emotions behind it.
I'd like to share with you my playlist that I listened to when writing Forget-Me-Nots. Maybe it'll inspire you or make the screenplay come to life when you read it. Its a very emotional experience to be able to listen to a song and have a scene come to life.
SONG LIST:
Carry You by Novo Amor
-This song is what I picture as being the theme Song for the entire story or trailer / promotional music for it.
Life and Death by Paul Cardall
-You might recognize this song from the TV series LOST. It's been a favorite of mine but this is by a different composer. This song fits the theme of the story very well and adds an emotional punch to the plot.

- Perfect theme for the character Emily
I Can't Keep From Loving You by Andrew James
